All members & their families of ROTARY CLUB JALANDHAR WEST assembled at a local Hotel to honour a young budding cyclist, paddling all the way from KARGIL(J&K) to New Delhi, as per the following details.

Cyclist

  1. Master Arav Bhardwaj 12 years of age, born in Mumbai & hailing from a remote  Village KANSLA, Distt. Rohtak, Haryana, is studying in 8th grade at the Heritage School, Rohini, New Delhi. His Father Dr. Atul Bhardwaj is a Spine & Knee Replacement surgeon with Max Healthcare, Shalimar Bagh & Saroj Hospital, Rohini Delhi. His mother Dr. Swati Bhardwaj is a Pediatric Nephrologist, associated with BLK-Max Hospital, New Delhi. He has visited many a places of religious  importance  viz Kedarnath, Badrinath, Tirupati,  Shree Vaishno Devi and SriLanka.  At this young age he discovered his inclination towards National Heroes.

He undertook  a 2612 Kms Bicycle Yatra in 2022 from INA Memorial Moirang, Manipur to National War Memorial, New Delhi to commemorate the 125th Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and  to celebrate the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. The Yatra was flagged off by The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Manipur, Shri N. Biren Singh on 14.04.2022 and concluded  on 15.05.2022,  when he was bestowed with Armed Forces Medal by the Indian Army.

  1. His name has found place in Asia Book of World Records with his father Dr. Atul Bhardwaj for a longest cycle yatra by a father/ son duo collectively.

  1. Our nation is celebrating Rajat Jayanti, the 25th Anniversary of  Kargil Vijay  “KVD25”  on 26th Jul.

He was  eagerly waiting  for the  Silver Jubilee, the 25th Anniversary of the Kargil Vijay, KVD25, since the completion of his  aforesaid  Yatra in 2022 and preparing himself physically and mentally since last 2 years to undertake a Bicycle Yatra in the Hilly Mountain Terrain

Drawing pride from inspirations given by our  National Heros, he prepared himself to undertake the  Bicycle Yatra on 26th July-2024 from Kargil War Memorial, Kargil  and  to conclude at National War Memorial New Delhi in order to pay his tributes to  Kargil Heros, who laid down their lives for safeguarding  the territorial integrity of our great nation. This would  also inspire the young generation to realize the importance of the  day/supreme sacrifice of  these brave sons of Bharat

During this

“BICYCLE YATRA”  he shall be cycling from Kargil War  Memorial, Kargil, Ladakh to  The National                                                                                                                  War Memorial India Gate, New Delhi (a distance of 1,200+ Kms).

On the way  he will be  visiting  the families of a few  Kargil Heros  who sacrificed their lives,  to pay his respect and gratitude, Attari Border- Jallianwala Bagh (Amritsar) and Khatkar Kalan,  the Village of Shaheed-e-Azam  Shaheed  Bhagat Singh. (Museum of Shaheed Bhagat Singh).

His “Bicycle Yatra” shall pass through the Union Territories/States  of Ladakh, Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana  Delhi and finally conclude on or  around 8th August, 2024 at the National War Memorial, India gate, a befitting tribute to the great warriors of our Bharat.

This yatra had halts at the following landmarks: (1)Sonmarg 26th July, (2) Sri Nagar 27th July (3) Banihal 28th July (4) Udhampur 29th July (5) Jammu 30th July (6) Jammu 31st July (reserve day) (7) Dina Nagar/ Gurdaspur 1st August (8) Attari Border/Amritsar 2nd August (9)  Jalandhar 3rd August (10) Chandigarh 4th August (11) Chandigarh 5th August  reserve day (12) Karnal 6th August (13) Rohtak 7th August.

This Yatra will conclude at National War Memorial, New Delhi on 8th August.

Members of Rotary Club Jalandhar West organized a special meeting to honour this young cyclist, master ARAV BHARADWAJ & his family comprising of his father, grand father & uncle, who traveled from KARGIL(J&K) to New Delhi & enrute made a halt at Jalandhar.

This was as a mark of paying obeisance to the martyrs of KARGIL war.
