Jalandhar Commissionerate Police led by Commissioner of Police Mr Swapan Sharma has arrested four persons for murdering a man at Chara Mandi, Buta Mandi.

Divulging the details, Commissioner of Police said that Ajay Kumar s/o Vikramjit Singh r/o Deol Nagar near Durga Shakti Mandir Bhargo Camp Jalandhar had complained that his elder brother Deepak Kumar @ Deepu, was employed as a cleaner in the Corporation. He said that Ajay had said that his brother was friend of Avtar Singh @ Tari s/o Harbans Lal r/o Mohalla Jallowal Abadi Jalandhar and about two months ago Avtar had taken Rs1..50 lakh from him. Mr Swapan Sharma said that complainant said that August 20 at around 07:00 P.M, his brother and his friend Anil Kumar @ Gaggu went to Chara Mandi Buta Mandi Jalandhar to get that money.

However, the Commissioner of Police said that complainant said that Avtar Singh Tari along with 9-10 persons quarrelled them and injured them. He said that his Deepak was rushed to hospital where he was brought dead and Anil Kumar Gaggu also sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment in the hospital. Mr Swapan Sharma said that police had filed FIR No. 78 dated 21.08.2024 u/s 103(1), 109, 190, 191(3), 351(2),351(3) BNS at PS Bhargo Camp Jalandhar.

The Commissioner of Police during the investigation Police had identified the attackers as Avtar Suman @ Tari s/o Harbans Lal r/o HNo 305 New Jallowal Abadi Jalandhar, Johnny s/o Harbans Lal r/o HNo 305 New Jallowal Abadi Jalandhar, Sukhchain s/o Vijay Kumar r/o HNo 223 Jallowal Abadi Jalandhar and Rajat Nahar @ Nona s/o Rashpal Singh r/o HNo 108 Tower Enclave Ph-3 PS Lambra Jalandhar. He said that these attackers have been arrested and two knives (Datar) used in the incident have been found from the accused Johnny and Rajat Nahar Nona. Mr Swapan Sharma said that further investigation into the case is going on and details will be shared later.
